A Tear is Like a Snowflake

A tear is like a snowflake, no two are just alike. Some flow for sadness, others flow for joy. This time of year evokes many emotions hidden deep within. Some childhood memories stir up Christmas's past. A memory slowly rolls down my cheek. Missing my mom and dad a lot this time of year. We always gathered as a family and they made the holidays so very festive and bright.
We still gather, but many are missing around our tree and things are very different. Family goes in many directions and not everyone gathers as in years gone by. Our group comes together and we sing our carols and cheer another Christmas but there is sadness in the holiday, as well.
The hustle and bustle is now a lot of online shopping and hurrying in and out of stores with gift cards in hand and a box or two to wrap for the grandkids. Traditions have come and gone and we are left with sweet memories.
How I miss my sweet Shanny. She was a Christmas lover. Her last Christmas she donned a light up apron when things were going awry in the kitchen preparing our Christmas breakfast. She quickly cheered us up with her twinkling apron! Her smile lit up the room as she bounced from one job to another cheerily making light of the chores at hand.
So, while some are celebrating Christmas with their families gathered around their tree, think of those who may not be so merry and bright and say a little prayer that they find peace in the moment of the Lord's birth. Let us not forget the reason for this day. We all have a beautiful reason to celebrate!
