We are in the middle of this pandemic and you ask me what do we have to be happy about today? How are we so blessed? Look around you...do you have a place to live? Food on the table? Are you feeling well today? I'd say things are looking up for you!
So many are going through so much. If you are blessed to be counted among the healthy and still employed...count your blessings and pray for the next guy who lost his job or whose wife just tested positive for Covid-19.
So, we are asked to wear a mask in public, is that really such a big deal? Keeping your fellow neighbors and elderly healthy...such a small asking for such a great return. Put the damn mask on and go on about your business.
If it were a family member, would you be too proud to don a mask? Would you feel your rights were so violated? Really. Can we all just stop and take a breath for a moment.
Look around you. We are a young nation, in crisis. Many of our frontline workers are being attacked if they speak up, why? Aren't they just as entitled to ask you to wear a mask as you are to deny wearing one? If they are brave enough to fight this virus for us, can't we be brave enough to do our part?
When did we become so selfish and self-centered? This isn't about you and me...this is about us, as a whole. Let's all do what we can do to help. Whatever that looks like to you. Whether it is taking groceries to a neighbor or mowing someone's lawn, babysitting so your friend can work yet another shift, whatever it is...do it with love. Let's get back to the nation of caring and peace. Close your eyes, there is no one color, we all matter. We all are Americans. Let's show some pride in our country today, tomorrow and in the days ahead.
